- Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Year round)
- Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Year round)
- Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Summer hours 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed Sundays in summer)
Location
The library is located at 205 West Chestnut, Canton, Illinois. It is at the corner of Avenue B and Chestnut. This is two blocks west and one block south from the junction of Ill. Rt. 78 (Main Street) and Ill. Rt. 9 (Locust)
Library Cards
Any resident of Canton, Illinois, is eligible for a library card. Please bring in a current Driver's license or photo I.D. and a proof of address such as a recent bill. Residents of other library districts may also use our library. Please bring your current library card and a Driver's license.

Collection
- 73,000 books and paperbacks

Computer Services
- 11 PCs with public Internet access, word processing, and other office applications
- 2 PC for educational CD-ROM games

The library offers wireless access during library hours.

An Internet/Computer Use agreement must be signed by all users. Users under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature on file. Children below 5th grade must be accompanied by an adult when on Internet machines. In accordance with CIPA regulations filtering is installed on all computers. Persons 17 years of age and older may request filtering be removed provided their use complies with the library policies stated in the Internet/Computer Use Agreement.
Reference Services
Reference Services are provided in-house during normal hours. Requests and comments can also be sent via e-mail to Parlin-Ingersoll Library.
Other Services
- Microfilm Reader/Printer with local newspapers back to 1850s
- Photocopy and Fax Services
- Outreach Services for homebound delivery within Canton city limits
- The library houses the collection of the Fulton County Historical and Genealogical Society
- The library will proctor tests on an individual basis for a fee of $15 per appointment
