NewsBank Newspaper Access

Parlin-Ingersoll Public Library is pleased to announce the addition of new databases for PIL cardholders.  Through NewsBank, library cardholders can now access the Canton Daily Ledger in text format from 2001 to the current issue.  The Peoria Journal Star is also accessible in text format from 1991 to the present as well as the newer image format since January of 2019.  The image format appears to the reader in the format of the actual print newspaper including photos, comics, and advertisements.  Access is immediate so the daily newspaper is available the same day online.  Articles and photos appear in color and articles can be clipped and printed.  America’s News database includes data from newspapers across the country on a variety of topics.  Find the links by clicking ONLINE RESOURCES at the top of our homepage.
