Youth Services Librarian

Youth Services LibrarianParlin-Ingersoll Public Library is seeking a creative, energetic, organized person for a full-time Youth Services Librarian.  Responsibilities include performing all activities related to library programs for children birth through grade 8.  Selects and orders materials for children pre-school through high school.  Manages children’s materials budget and program budget.  Serves as primary liaison to Canton schools.  This 40-hour per week position includes some nights and weekends.  Includes health and IMRF retirement benefits.  Ideal candidate will possess: BA/BS in a related field (previous comparable work experience will be taken into consideration); knowledge of children’s literature; excellent customer service skills; and several years of experience working with children.  Ability to work independently under the supervision of the Director.  Valid driver’s license is required.  Starting salary range depending on qualifications.  EEOC.  Job applications available at the library circulation desk or from the website:  No phone calls, please.  Interviews are tentatively planned for early August.
