As a general rule the Parlin-Ingersoll Public Library Board of Trustees convenes its regular monthly board meetings at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Board Room at the library. The meeting dates for 2022 are listed below. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Please call the library for further details or notification of any schedule changes.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
In accordance with 5 ILCS, Par. 140/1, Freedom of Information Act, the Parlin-Ingersoll Public Library shall make available for inspection or copying all public records, except as otherwise provided in Section 7 of this Act.
Persons may request public records at the library. Requestors are encouraged to submit requests in writing to the Director at 205 W. Chestnut Street, Canton, IL 61520. Requests should be sufficiently detailed to identify documents sought to be examined or copied.

Open Meetings Act
In accordance with posting requirements of the Open Meetings Act, the following documents are posted at the library facility at 205 W. Chestnut Street in Canton, IL.
- A schedule of the meeting dates for the Board of Trustees for the current year.
- An agenda for each meeting of the Board of Trustees, posted at least 48 hours in advance.
- Total compensation for applicable employees, as defined in Public Act 97-609.
Library Confidentiality Act
The circulation and registration records of library patrons are NOT available for public inspection, under the guidelines of the Library Records Confidentiality Act.
